They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 14-12 win over the Pierce Bluejays on Thursday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Monarchs considering their one-run performance the matchup before.
The team relied heavily on Faith Samek, who got on base in five of her six plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in hits (three). Brookelynn Banholzer was another key player, going a perfect 6-for-6 with three runs and one double.
Aquinas was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .455. They are 5-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
