Basketball Recap: Justin Brown Key Part of a Team Effort in Falcons Win

Lee Christian hadn't done well against New Garden Friends recently (they were 0-4 in their previous four matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Lee Christian Falcons managed a 60-56 win over the New Garden Friends Bears. This was a revenge game for the Falcons: when they faced off against the Bears back in December of 2024, they had to take a 59-48 loss.

Lee Christian got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Justin Brown out in front who dropped a double-double on 28 points and 11 rebounds. That's the most points Brown has posted since back in November of 2024. Daniel Rumbold was another key player, as he made all 6 shots he took for 15 points.

Kingston Clifton and Curtis Russell certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Clifton posted 23 points and four steals, while Russell had 13 points and four steals. The match was Clifton's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Adrian Wilkerson, who put up five points.

Lee Christian's record is now 14-7. As for New Garden Friends, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-11.

Lee Christian didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, an 83-50 win against Shining Light Academy on the 31st. As for New Garden Friends, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 51-48 victory against Cape Fear Christian Academy on the 31st.
