Baseball Recap: Foothill Picks Up Eighth Straight Win at Home

Foothill won the last time they faced Livermore and things went their way on Friday too. The Falcons blew past the Cowboys 10-2. Considering the Falcons have won 12 contests by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Foothill got a great performance from Take Sato-Kreis as he struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. Those seven strikeouts gave Sato-Kreis a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Hudson Flora was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. Tanner Tarpley was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.

Foothill always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .545. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Livermore only posted an OBP of .323.

Foothill pushed their record up to 17-5 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.6 runs over those games. As for Livermore, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-10.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Foothill is set to square off against their familiar foe Amador Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Falcons 2.4, the Dons 4.1) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Livermore will challenge rival Granada at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
