It's playoff time, and Granite Hills had no trouble coming through when it counted. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-4 win over the St. Augustine Saints on Tuesday. The victory was familiar territory for the Eagles, who have now won 17 matches in a row.
Brenden Lewis was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He pitched five innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in 12 consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Parker Vance was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run.
Granite Hills' win was their 21st straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 23-0-2.
