The Taft Wildcats's recent rough patch got a bit rougher  on Friday after their third straight loss. They lost to Chavez on the road  by a decisive  47-28 margin. If Taft hoped to take revenge for the  51-45 defeat against they when the teams met, then they were left disappointed.
 Taft's  defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of  Shelby Gregory, who  scored 13 points along with nine  rebounds, and  Alaysia Taylor who  scored six points along with 12  rebounds and three  steals.
 Among those leading the charge was   Hannah Diaz, who  scored 21 points along with four  blocks.  Chloe Lopez was another key contributor,  scoring 14 points along with four  steals.
 Taft has  traveled a rocky road recently, as they've  lost nine of their last 11 matchups,  which put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season. As for Chavez, the  win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-8.
 Both  teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Taft will  take on Wasco at 6:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. Wasco is coming into the  matchup on a five-game losing streak. As for Chavez, they will head out on the road to  face off against  Kennedy at 6:30  p.m.  on Thursday.
