Montgomery had lost four games straight , but after bumping their record up to 7-9  on Wednesday that streak is in the rearview. Montgomery got a great performance from  Greyson Gariss as he  tossed 4.2 innings while giving up just two earned  (and one unearned) runs off   four  hits.
 At the plate,  Thomas Coleman and  Lukas Walker did most of the damage at the plate:  Coleman  got on base  in four of his five plate appearances with two  RBI, one  run,  and one  double, while  Walker  went 3-for-5 with two  stolen bases, two  runs,  and one  triple. That's the most  stolen bases  Walker has posted since back in March.  Justin Howard was another key player,  going 1-for-4 with two  runs and one  stolen base.
 Montgomery was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .382. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Piner only posted a  batting average of  .241.
As for Piner, they have  been struggling recently as they've  lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record  this season. They just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.
 On Piner's side, they saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Tyler Coester, who  went 1-for-3 with one  run and one  double.
The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Montgomery beat the Prospectors by a score of  10-0 on Friday.
