The Oswayo Valley Green Wave won the last time they faced the Smethport Hubbers, and things went their way on Thursday too. Oswayo Valley walked away with a 42-33 victory over Smethport. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Oswayo Valley.
Loss or not, Smethport got some senior leadership from Elizabeth Hungiville and Jaidyn Goodman. Hungiville dropped a double-double on 15 points and 14 rebounds, while Goodman. dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds. Hungiville is crushing the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Madelyn McKean, who scored six points.
Even though they lost, Smethport smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. This was only their 12th loss (out of 15 games) when they hit their own glass that hard.
Oswayo Valley has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. As for Smethport, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-17.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Oswayo Valley will take on Cameron County at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Cameron County is coming into the contest with seven straight losses on the road, meaning Oswayo Valley will have to defend against a squad hungry for a victory. As for Smethport, they will be playing at home against Kane at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
