Chartiers-Houston's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Allison Wingard led the charge by dropping a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds. Wingard set a new season high mark in blocks with four. Mia Mitrik was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with eight rebounds and seven assists.
Washington lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Olivia Woods, who scored 13 points. Woods scored a full 32.5% of Washington's points, the seventh time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Taraysia Finley, who scored 11 points.
Chartiers-Houston's victory was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-3. As for Washington, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Chartiers-Houston will take on Weir at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Weir has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.
