The Holdrege Dusters scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Sandy Creek as Holdrege made off with a 51-27 win. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Holdrege has managed all season.
Sandy Creek's loss came despite strong showings from Emma Fisher and Ryleigh Skalka. Fisher scored nine points along with eight rebounds, while Skalka scored 11 points along with five rebounds. Skalka scored a full 40.7% of Sandy Creek's points, the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
The victory got Holdrege back to even at 2-2. As for Sandy Creek, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.
Holdrege will be home for the holidays to greet Gothenburg on Friday. As for Sandy Creek, they will head out on the road to face off against Wilber-Clatonia at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Wilber-Clatonia comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 25 points in their last four games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
