Last Thursday, Beaver had to suffer through a rough 63-22 loss at the hands of Blackhawk. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Beaver in their matchups with Blackhawk: they've now lost six in a row.
Meanwhile, Pine-Richland was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Monday as they fell 50-44 to Norwin. While losing is never fun, Pine-Richland can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 162nd, while Norwin is ranked eighth).
Pine-Richland's loss came about despite a quality game from Madison Zavasky, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Catherine Gentile, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds.
Beaver has traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record this season. As for Pine-Richland, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-12.
