Woodward Academy's rock-solid pitchers showed up for the team's sixth consecutive shutout on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Shiloh Generals with a sharp 14-0 victory. The War Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matches by seven runs or more this season.

Henry McManamy looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (four).

At the plate, Landon Walker was a standout: he scored three runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-3. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Myles Tate, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Woodward Academy hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now struck out at most four strikeouts in nine consecutive contests.

Woodward Academy's win was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-1. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.3 runs on average over those games. As for Shiloh, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-13.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Woodward Academy will square off against rival Dunwoody at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Woodward Academy 2.4, Dunwoody 1.4) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Shiloh is set to face off against their familiar foe Decatur at 5:55 p.m. on Monday.
