The Mingo Central Miners put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They claimed a resounding 61-18 win over South Charleston on the road. Mingo Central's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
It was another big night for Addie Smith, who scored 25 points along with six blocks and five assists. That makes it five consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Mingo Central's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dalaney Grimmett, who scored 15 points along with five blocks.
Mingo Central's victory bumped their record up to 5-0. As for South Charleston, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-4.
Mingo Central will be home for the holidays to greet Wyoming East on Tuesday. Wyoming East has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 253 points over their last four matchups. South Charleston's road trip will continue as they head out to face Wayne at 7:00 p.m. on December 19th. Wayne will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
