The Mary Star of the Sea Stars will head out on the road to take on the Patriot Warriors at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. Mary Star of the Sea will be strutting in after a win while Patriot will be coming in after a defeat.
Having struggled with three losses in a row, Mary Star of the Sea turned things around against St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Warriors with a sharp 13-5 victory. The result was nothing new for the Stars, who have now won ten games by six runs or more so far this season.

Mathias Reynolds made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run but no hits. He is becoming a predictor of Mary Star of the Sea's success: when he allows at most two hits the team is 2-1 (and 10-11 when he doesn't). Reynolds was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, Ricardo Carreon was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ben Dileva, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with four runs and one stolen base.
The home team had won the previous three meetings between Patriot and Ramona, and Ramona kept the tradition alive. The Warriors fell just short of the Rams by a score of 11-10 on Wednesday.
Noah Leon made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 4-for-5 with three runs, three doubles, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Paul Lopez-Ortiz, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
The win got Mary Star of the Sea back to even at 12-12. As for Patriot, they dropped their record down to 14-13 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.
Thursday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Mary Star of the Sea hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .318. However, it's not like Patriot struggles in that department as they've averaged .322. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
