Long Beach Poly is a perfect 10-0 against Cabrillo since April of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Jackrabbits will head out on the road to square off against the Jaguars at 4:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Long Beach Poly has six straight wins, Cabrillo has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Long Beach Poly's hitters will try to repeat the strong performance they gave on Monday, when they got past St. Anthony's usually-dominant pitching crew. The Jackrabbits blew past the Saints 10-2. Considering the Jackrabbits have won five contests by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Tate Hammond made a big impact no matter where he played. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
In other pitching news, Az Zuger looked comfortable as he tossed four innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (four).
Back at the plate, Caleb Safotu was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That triple was his first of the season. Braylen Reyes was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Compton hit Cabrillo with a six-run seventh inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Jaguars fell just short of the Tarbabes by a score of 6-4.
Like Long Beach Poly, Cabrillo also got a great game from a two-way player: Fabian Vigil. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out eight over six innings pitched. Vigil was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.
Vigil wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Eli Torres, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one double.
Long Beach Poly's record now sits at 10-4. As for Cabrillo, the defeat was their first at home, dropping their record down to 7-4.
Everything went Long Beach Poly's way against Cabrillo in their previous matchup back in April of 2025, as Long Beach Poly made off with a 10-2 victory. Do the Jackrabbits have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Jaguars turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
