The San Mateo Bearcats will head out on the road to take on the Sacred Heart Prep Gators at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. San Mateo's pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so Sacred Heart Prep's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
San Mateo barely beat Lincoln the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. San Mateo was the clear victors by a 9-1 margin over Lincoln on Wednesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Bearcats have posted against the Mustangs since March 21, 2015.

Christian Louie was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring three runs while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in runs.
In other batting news, Julian Bleess was excellent, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double. That double was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Neel Sardesai, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
Meanwhile, Sacred Heart Prep came up short against Archbishop Riordan on Friday and fell 6-3.
Sacred Heart Prep also got a good showing from Rallin Covey, who didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out eight over four innings pitched.
On the hitting side, Sacred Heart Prep saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Thomas Moldow, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-4.
The victory made it two in a row for San Mateo and bumps their season record up to 3-1. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 11 runs. As for Sacred Heart Prep, they now have a losing record of 2-3.
San Mateo was able to grind out a solid win over Sacred Heart Prep in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, winning 4-1. Does San Mateo have another victory up their sleeve, or will Sacred Heart Prep turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
