On Thursday, Marion Center humbled Conemaugh Township with a 55-24 victory. Given Marion Center's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 64th, while Conemaugh Township is ranked 438th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Despite the loss, Conemaugh Township still got an impressive performance from Jenna Brenneman, who scored eight points along with six rebounds. Brenneman continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played.
Marion Center pushed their record up to 12-3 with that victory, which was their seventh straight at home. As for Conemaugh Township, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Marion Center will face off against DuBois at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Conemaugh Township won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Ferndale at 7:15 p.m. on January 12th. Hopefully Ferndale focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 on Monday.
