The Pelion Panthers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their seventh straight defeat. They were beaten by Strom Thurmond 58-15. Pelion was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-8.
It was another big night for Katlyn Chinn, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten steals for Strom Thurmond. Chinn also posted eight assists for the first time this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Lawson Lowe, who scored 11 points along with three steals.
Pelion has not been sharp recently as the team's lost 12 of their last 13 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-14 record this season. As for Strom Thurmond, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-10.
Pelion will be playing at home against the Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Strom Thurmond, they will head out on the road to challenge the Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Silver Bluff is coming into the contest hot, having won their last 16 games.
