The Sabinal Yellowjackets can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They claimed a resounding 66-23 victory over Nueces Canyon on the road. With Sabinal ahead 36-13 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Among those leading the charge was Ricardo Perez, who scored 16 points. The match was his third in a row with at least ten points. Joseph Contreras was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with 9 rebounds.
Sabinal's victory bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Nueces Canyon, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-3.
Sabinal is on the road again on Saturday and play against Utopia at 12:00 p.m. on December 2nd. As for Nueces Canyon, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Leakey at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Leakey is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
