The Crespi Celts will challenge the Salesian Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Crespi barely beat La Salle the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Celts blew past the Lancers 49-7 on Friday. The win was just business as usual for the Celts, who after seven games remain undefeated this season.

Crespi can attribute much of their success to Chase Curren, who threw for 153 yards and three TDs while completing 73.3% of his passes, and Jaden Ayala, who gained 107 total yards and two touchdowns. The dominant performance also gave Curren a new career-high in passer rating (145.3).
Another reason for the win was Crespi's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for 5.5 sacks. Grant Woods was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up two himself. Crespi got some further help from Oliver White: he picked up a sack and made eight total tackles (3.0 for loss).
Special teams also played a big role in the game for Crespi, adding 13 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of White, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.
Salesian hadn't beaten Harvard-Westlake on the road since October 7, 2016 but that history sure didn't bother them on Friday. The Mustangs simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Wolverines 44-14. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 30-7.
Crespi better focus on containing Donovan Shirley and J'Anthony Cobb as the pair were huge in Salesian's win. Shirley threw for 335 yards and a pair of touchdowns, while Cobb gained 212 total yards and a touchdown. With that strong performance, Shirley is now averaging an impressive 316.5 passing yards per game. A healthy portion of Shirley's aerial production (97 yards to be exact) went to James Spicer.
Salesian was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 236 rushing yards. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their rushing yard total in three consecutive contests.
Crespi's victory bumped their record up to 7-0. As for Salesian, their win bumped their record up to 5-2.
Crespi was taken down by Salesian 38-0 in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. Will the Celts have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other football content.
