The Center Cougars lost against the Wheatland Pirates back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Center fell to Wheatland 38-34.
Despite the loss, Center still got an impressive performance from Miessah Sagun, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Madison Shirley Boudreaux, who scored four points along with 11 rebounds.
Center's defeat dropped their record down to 9-12. As for Wheatland, their victory bumped their record up to 7-12.
Center will head out on the road to face off against Bear River at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Bear River presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Center in California (Bear River is ranked 285th, while Center is ranked 667th). As for Wheatland, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Colfax at 7:00 p.m. on January 24th. Colfax is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last 12 games.
