The T.R. Miller Tigers were the 65-48 winner over the Shields Panthers when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. T.R. Miller fell just short of Shields by a score of 42-39.
Despite the loss, T.R. Miller still got an impressive performance from Heath Kirkland, who scored 23 points along with 5 rebounds. Kirkland scored a full 59% of T.R. Miller's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brodie Anthony, who scored 7 points.
Shields got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jalance Kimbrough out in front who scored 16 points along with 3 steals. Another player making a difference was Adrian Watts, who scored 7 points along with 10 rebounds and 3 steals.
T.R. Miller's loss dropped their record down to 2-1. As for Shields, their victory bumped their record up to 2-3.
T.R. Miller will be playing in front of their home fans against Excel at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Shields won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Wilcox Central at 7:00 p.m. on December 2nd. Wilcox Central has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 200 points over their last three games.
