The Seaholm Maples will take on the Mott Corsairs at 5:45 p.m. on Saturday.
Seaholm is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Detroit Country Day just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Friday. They fell 8-3 to the Yellowjackets.

Dylan Furlani was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Casey Goetz was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one run and one double.
Meanwhile, Mott waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They were the clear victors by a 20-4 margin over the Yellowjackets. The result was nothing new for the Corsairs, who have now won 15 games by six runs or more so far this season.
Evan Makulski made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Makulski was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with eight stolen bases, four runs, and one RBI. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 1.2 stolen bases per game.
In other batting news, Hunter Pozzi-Mondeau was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with six stolen bases, four runs, and one double. He is becoming a predictor of Mott's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 4-10 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Alex Shilling, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run.
Mott always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .595. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive contests.
Seaholm now has a losing record of 15-16-3. As for Mott, their win bumped their record up to 17-10.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Saturday as neither team is afraid to steal. Seaholm has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Mott struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.6 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Seaholm beat Mott 7-2 in their previous matchup back in May of 2025. Will the Maples repeat their success, or do the Corsairs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
