Sylmar has been on the road for two straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Van Nuys Wolves at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
Last Saturday, Sylmar was the victim of a tough 67-41 loss at the hands of the Roadrunners. While losing is never fun, Sylmar can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 471st, while the Roadrunners are ranked 228th).
Despite the loss, Sylmar got a solid performance out of Mia Ceja, who scored 28 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Isabella Gonzalez, who scored eight points.
Meanwhile, Van Nuys put the finishing touches on their tenth blowout victory of the season on Wednesday. They blew past Panorama 66-15 at home. While fans of Van Nuys might be used to big wins, the 51-point margin marked the team's biggest win yet this season.
Sylmar's defeat dropped their record down to 13-7. As for Van Nuys, their win bumped their record up to 14-2.
Sylmar might still be hurting after the 61-39 defeat they got from the Wolves in their previous meeting back in January. Will Sylmar have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other basketball content.
