Tustin has gone a perfect 3-0 against University recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Saturday. Tustin will be taking part in a tournament against University at 11:15 a.m. Tustin is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak.

Tustin came up short against Fullerton on Tuesday, falling 8-1.

Tustin got a good showing from Nathan Saltzer, who pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Saltzer has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Daniel Benally made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for University, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out Irvine 3-2 on Thursday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

University also got a great performance from Andrew Shean as he tossed six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. Shean is becoming a predictor of University's success: when he allows at most one earned run the team is 5-1 (and 2-3 when he doesn't).

At the plate, University saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Chase Nguyen, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

University pushed their record up to 7-4 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Tustin, their loss dropped their record down to 2-8-1.

Tustin took their win against University in their previous meeting back in April of 2018 by a conclusive 11-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for Tustin since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
