Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the Carthage Bulldogs walked away with it. They took their match on the road on Friday with ease, bagging a 49-7 win over the Panthers. Carthage's victory was nothing new given the team hasn't lost yet this season.
Carthage's win bumped their record up to 12-0. As for Van Alstyne, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-4.
Carthage will be playing in front of their home fans against Pleasant Grove at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. Pleasant Grove is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. Van Alstyne does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
