Basketball Recap: Franklin Extends Winning Streak to Three

Franklin had won two straight games and Nicole Belasco did her part to make it three on Monday. The Franklin Yellowjackets blew past the River Islands Riptide 63-28 thanks in part to Belasco, who went 7 for 12 en route to 19 points and three steals. That's the most points she has posted since back in December of 2024.

Another player making a difference was Kiara Salcedo, who posted eight points along with nine boards and four steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed four or more in the last three games she's played.

Franklin is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a massive bump to their 10-11 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.8 points per game. As for River Islands, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 12 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-16 record this season.

Franklin wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 43-30 loss against Tokay on the 4th. River Islands has also already played their next contest, a 61-32 defeat against Venture Academy on the 4th.
