Given Mercersburg Academy's advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked ninth in Pennsylvania, while Stone Ridge School of the Sacred Heart is ranked 117th in Maryland), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Madison Goodhart, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 15 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Annie Mohr, who scored eight points along with two steals.
The win makes it two in a row for Mercersburg Academy and bumps their season record up to 10-5. As for Stone Ridge School of the Sacred Heart, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-10.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mercersburg Academy will face off against Peddie at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Stone Ridge School of the Sacred Heart, they will head out on the road to face off against Episcopal at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Episcopal is coming into the contest hot, having won their last eight games.
