After flying high against the North Star Cougars last Friday, the Windber Ramblers came back down to earth. Windber fell just short of Homer-Center by a score of 39-37. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Windber came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 151st, while Homer-Center is ranked 312th).
Several Ramblers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kaylie Gaye, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Mariah Andrews, who scored nine points along with ten rebounds.
Windber's defeat dropped their record down to 5-5. As for Homer-Center, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
