The Exeter Monarchs lost to the Washington Union Panthers back in January, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Wednesday. Exeter snuck past Washington Union with a 46-42 win. That's two games straight that Exeter has won by exactly four points.
Leading Exeter to victory were Natasha Anguiano and Kylie Dias. Anguiano scored 12 points along with six rebounds and three steals, while Dias scored 14 points along with five assists. Anguiano hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Brooklyn Cooper was another key contributor, scoring six points along with ten rebounds.
The win makes it two in a row for Exeter and bumps their season record up to 17-10. As for Washington Union, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-16 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Exeter will square off against Reedley at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Exeter focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 35 on Wednesday. As for Washington Union, they will head out on the road to take on Central Valley Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with five consecutive losses for Washington Union and four for Central Valley Christian.
