The Walnut Mustangs will head out on the road to face off against the Diamond Bar Brahmas at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Last Thursday, Walnut strolled past Wilson with points to spare, taking the game 58-40. The win made it back-to-back wins for Walnut.
Walnut's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kameryn Perea-saupan, who scored 19 points along with two steals. That's the first time this season that Perea-saupan scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Maileeh Suasti, who scored 18 points along with nine rebounds.
Meanwhile, Diamond Bar put the finishing touches on their 11th blowout victory of the season on Thursday. They really took it to Rowland for the full four quarters, racking up a 69-42 win at home. The victory was nothing new for Diamond Bar as they're now sitting on five straight.
Walnut is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-9 record this season. As for Diamond Bar, their win bumped their record up to 18-4.
Walnut suffered a grim 64-39 defeat to Diamond Bar in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. Can Walnut avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
