The Desert Christian Academy Conquerors will head out on the road to square off against the Temecula Prep Patriots at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Desert Christian Academy has given up an average of 9.1 runs per game this season, but Saturday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Desert Christian Academy managed to slip by San Jacinto Valley Academy the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Conquerors came up short against the Wolves on Wednesday, falling 15-5.
Desert Christian Academy saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jesse Snellenberger, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI. Another was Jacob Reynolds, who scored two runs.
Meanwhile, Temecula Prep earned a 6-1 win over California Lutheran on Monday. The victory continues a trend for the Patriots in their matchups with the C-Hawks: they've now won four in a row.
Nikolaz Gonzalez made a splash no matter where he played. He tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Gonzalez was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.
In other batting news, Cody Servin was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3.
Desert Christian Academy has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season. As for Temecula Prep, their record now sits at 8-4.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Saturday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Desert Christian Academy has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.6 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Temecula Prep struggles in that department as they've been averaging 9.7 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
