The Coudersport Falcons gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Monday. They breezed by Smethport at home to the tune of 62-34. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Coudersport also won the last time the pair played back in January.
Defeat or not, Smethport got some senior leadership from Elizabeth Hungiville who scored 13 points along with 8 rebounds and Jaidyn Goodman who dropped a double-double on 10 points and 10 rebounds. Hungiville scored a full 38.2% of Smethport's points, the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Payton Neff, who scored 2 points along with 3 steals.
Coudersport's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Smethport, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-3.
Coudersport will head out on the road to face off against Port Allegany at 7:30 p.m. on December 13th. Hopefully Port Allegany focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine on Thursday. As for Smethport, they will be playing at home against East Forest/West Forest at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
