The Monte Vista Monarchs were the 60-45 winner over the West Hills Wolf Pack when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. Monte Vista fell 47-36 to West Hills on Monday. Monte Vista has been going strong on the season, but this is now their second defeat in a row.
Monte Vista lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Malia Flores, who scored 21 points along with seven rebounds. Those seven rebounds set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Jazmyn Montague, who scored seven points along with 12 rebounds and three steals.
Monte Vista's loss dropped their record down to 6-3. As for West Hills, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 7-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Monte Vista will take on High Tech SD at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully High Tech SD focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Friday. West Hills won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Eastlake at 7:00 p.m. on December 12th. Hopefully Eastlake focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 last Wednesday.
