The Richwood Lumberjacks's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 82-49 loss at the hands of Greenbrier West. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss Richwood has suffered yet this season.
Richwood's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Trae Trivolette, who scored 18 points along with six rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Trivolette has scored all season. Dalton Spencer was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with two steals.
Richwood bumped their record down to 1-9 with that defeat, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Greenbrier West, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Richwood will challenge Highland at 6:45 p.m. on Friday. Highland will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in their respective state's rankings (they are ranked 376th in Virginia, while Richwood is ranked 120th in West Virginia). Greenbrier West will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Midland Trail at 7:30 p.m. on January 23rd.
