Penquis Valley and Central are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2019, but not for long. The Penquis Valley Patriots will finish 2023 at home by hosting the Central Red Devils at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
After soaring to 55 points the game before, Penquis Valley were a bit more limited in their match on Saturday. They took a serious blow against Stearns, falling 55-24.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Central, who are still winless after their fifth contest. Their tough 58-35 defeat to Dexter last Tuesday might stick with them for a while. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Central has scored all season.
Penquis Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Central, their loss dropped their record down to 0-5.
Penquis Valley didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Central when the teams last played back in January, but they still walked away with a 62-57 victory. Does Penquis Valley have another victory up their sleeve, or will Central turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
