Travelers Rest came tearing into Saturday's game with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 28.8 points) and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 44-34 win over the Polk County Wolverines. While the Devildogs didn't have the best season last year (they finished 10-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Several Wolverines players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Bailey Staton, who posted 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Charley Dusenbury, who earned seven points.

Travelers Rest has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 26.9 points per game. As for Polk County, they moved to 9-1 with that defeat, which also ended their nine-game winning streak.

Travelers Rest has already played their next matchup, a 42-29 loss against Mountain Heritage on the 30th. As for Polk County, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 58-55 victory against West Henderson on the 30th.
