Rio Hondo Prep posted their biggest victory since December 15, 2023 on Tuesday. They blew past Mayfield 43-19.
Tara Riley and Emma Carson were among the main playmakers for Rio Hondo Prep as the former scored 16 points along with two steals and the latter dropped a double-double on ten points and 14 rebounds. Carson has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last ten times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Sydney Diaz, who scored six points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Flintridge Prep scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They claimed a resounding 76-17 win over Polytechnic on the road. With Flintridge Prep ahead 44-10 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
Rio Hondo Prep has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season. As for Flintridge Prep, their victory bumped their record up to 19-1.
Rio Hondo Prep was taken down by Flintridge Prep 64-21 when the teams last played back in December of 2023. The contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Rio Hondo Prep was down 39-14.
