The Covington Academy Bulldogs will square off against the CrossPointe Christian Academy Cavaliers at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Covington Academy is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.

Covington Academy saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Austin Lowery, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases. Lowery has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last seven times he's played.
Meanwhile, CrossPointe Christian Academy was able to grind out a solid win over New Creation Christian Academy on Thursday, taking the game 11-7. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Cavaliers.
Gaines Casey made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out nine batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits. Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 4-for-5 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. He has become a key player for CrossPointe Christian Academy: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 1-4-1 otherwise.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Harrison Wilkes, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Banks Casey, who went 1-for-5 with two stolen bases and two runs.
Covington Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 3-11. As for CrossPointe Christian Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 8-4-1.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Covington Academy has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like CrossPointe Christian Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 4.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
