The South Williamsport Mountaineers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They took a hard 43-25 fall against Muncy. The result was an unpleasant reminder to South Williamsport of the 48-22 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January.
Despite the loss, South Williamsport still got an impressive performance from Abby Akers, who scored seven points along with six steals. Akers is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last four games she's played.
South Williamsport has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-13 record this season. As for Muncy, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-7.
South Williamsport will be playing at home against Neumann Regional Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Neumann Regional Academy will roll in looking for their 12th straight win, something South Williamsport surely won't give up without a fight. As for Muncy, they and Line Mountain will face off at 7:03 p.m. on February 9th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
