The Juniata Indians won the last time they faced Juniata Christian, and things went their way on Tuesday too. Juniata put the hurt on Juniata Christian with a sharp 51-31 victory. The win made it back-to-back wins for Juniata.
Juniata can attribute much of their success to Ava Shearer, who scored 24 points along with 5 rebounds. That makes it two consecutive games in which Shearer has scored at least 25% of Juniata's points. Mylee Landis was another key contributor, scoring 7 points along with 8 rebounds.
Juniata's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Juniata Christian, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Juniata's road trip will continue as they head out to face Midd-West at 7:30 p.m. on December 8th. Hopefully Midd-West focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 on Tuesday. As for Juniata Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against Columbia Montour Vo-Tech at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Columbia Montour Vo-Tech is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home.
