Basketball Recap: Moore Haven Snaps Six-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Moore Haven lost against Okeechobee back in December of 2021 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Moore Haven Terriers fell to the Okeechobee Brahmans 48-44. While losing is never fun, the Terriers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 358th, while the Brahmans are ranked 124th).

Moore Haven's loss came despite strong showings from Clifford Love and Shakur Williams. Love posted 14 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals, while Williams put up 14 points and three steals. Love is crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Tykeem Paseler, who had six points.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Okeechobee to victory, but perhaps none more so than Channing Delagall, who went 7 of 12 on his way to 17 points and five boards. Another player making a difference was Kyler Campbell, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 boards.

Moore Haven's defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-2. As for Okeechobee, they pushed their record up to 7-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Moore Haven didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 58-25 victory against Glades Day on the 16th. As for Okeechobee, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 49-37 loss against Treasure Coast on the 16th.
