Baseball Recap: Mcclatchy Now 4-1 over Last Five Games

McClatchy never got on the board in their matchup on Saturday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Grant on Monday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Pacers a 10-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Lions, who have now won 13 matchups by eight runs or more so far this season.

The team relied heavily on Antonio Barber, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with five stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Those five stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Elias Ortega was another key player, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs.

McClatchy is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Grant, they dropped their record down to 6-21 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight at home.
