The Arroyo Dons will venture away from home to face off against the Concord Bears at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Arroyo is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.2 runs per game this season.
Arroyo's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They blew past San Lorenzo 10-0. The win continues a trend for the Dons in their matchups with the Grizzlies: they've now won eight in a row.
Arroyo let Raul Sepulveda and Marco Carbajal run wild. Sepulveda went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI, while Carbajal got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one double. That triple was Sepulveda's first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Eli Bueno, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Arroyo was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .381. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Concord, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They walked away with a 12-9 victory over De Anza on Thursday. The Bears' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Tony Hoshida was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in May of 2025. Pascual Palafox was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.
The win got Concord back to even at 5-5. As for Arroyo, their record is now 5-3.
Concord's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Arroyo hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .324. It's a different story for Concord, though, as they've only averaged .251. Will they be able to contain Arroyo's hitters?
Arroyo skirted past Concord 8-7 in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. Do the Dons have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bears turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
