The Central Academy Cougars will be playing in front of their home fans against the Hickory Grove Christian Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Central Academy's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They took a 53-38 bruising from Gray Stone Day.
Despite the defeat, Central Academy saw an underclassman step up: Justice Hegwood scored 18 points along with 8 rebounds and 3 steals. Hegwood scored a full 47.4% of Central Academy's points, the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jadah Pringle, who scored 7 points along with 13 rebounds and 4 steals.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 78-21, which was the final score in Hickory Grove Christian's tilt against Concord Academy on Tuesday. Hickory Grove Christian was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-6.
Sun Valley's victory bumped their season record to 0-0 while Central Academy's loss dropped theirs to 0-2.
