With a playoff win on the line, Lutheran rose to the challenge on Friday. They skirted past the Air Academy Kadets 4-3. The victory was familiar territory for the Lions, who have now won 15 games in a row.
Annie Schroeder spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on four hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Ella Faries was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one home run. That's the most hits she has posted since back in September. The team also got some help courtesy of Addie Brightman, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.
