The Pueblo West Cyclones will head out to challenge the Vista Ridge Wolves at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Pueblo West's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They put the hurt on Rampart with a sharp 15-0 victory. The win was nothing new for the Cyclones as they're now sitting on three straight.
Kassidy Donley made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 1-for-1 with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, Abbi Bay was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Peyton Kuhn was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.
Pueblo West was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .591. They are 11-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Vista Ridge came out on top against Rampart on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive eight-run sixth inning. The Wolves were the clear victors by a 14-5 margin over the Rams. The Wolves haven't had any issues with the Rams recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.
Jocelynn Kalkman and Jaylani Jusino did most of the damage at the plate: Kalkman went 2-for-5 with one home run, four runs, and four RBI, while Jusino went 3-for-5 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Lavaiah Trujillo also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Pueblo West's record is now 13-6. As for Vista Ridge, their record now sits at 13-4.
Vista Ridge's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Saturday. Pueblo West has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 6.7 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Vista Ridge, though, as they've been averaging only 3.1 strikeouts. Will Pueblo West keep running through batters, or will the Wolves buck the trend?
Pueblo West took their win against Vista Ridge in their previous meeting back in October of 2024 by a conclusive 16-7 score. Do the Cyclones have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Wolves turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
