Omro hasn't had much luck against Laconia recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Foxes will head out to take on the Spartans at 5:00 p.m. Omro's pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so Laconia's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Omro is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Amherst on Friday as they made off with a 16-5 win. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Foxes considering their two-run performance the matchup before.
Cade Sowls was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Sowls was also big at the plate, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs and one double. What's more, he posted two hits, the most he's had since back in April.
In other batting news, Bryce Loker was a standout: he got on base in three of his five plate appearances with four runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. That's the most runs he has posted since back in May of 2025. Another player making a difference was Evan Bernier, who went 2-for-5 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.
Omro was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .412. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Laconia posted their closest victory since April 16th on Monday. They skirted past Ripon 5-3. The Spartans haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive win against them.
Omro's record is now 13-4. As for Laconia, their record now sits at 11-6.
Omro might still be hurting after the 12-2 defeat they got from Laconia in their previous meeting back in April of 2025. Can the Foxes avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
