In what's become a running theme this season, the Gabrielino Eagles gave their fans yet another huge win on Friday. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 58-15 victory over South El Monte. Winning may never get old, but Gabrielino sure is getting used to it with their fourth in a row.
Gabrielino had a senior duo take command as Mia Lim dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds and Sarah Banh scored 12 points along with five assists and five rebounds. Lim has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last 12 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Shannon Yan, who scored seven points.
Gabrielino pushed their record up to 13-7 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home. As for South El Monte, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season.
Gabrielino will be playing in front of their home fans against El Monte at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. El Monte is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. South El Monte will be staying on the road on Monday to face off against Mountain View at 5:00 p.m. on January 22nd. Mountain View comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 14 points in their last three games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
