While it was all tied up 24-24 at halftime, the University City Centurions were not quite the Wilson Wildcats's equal in the second half on Friday. University City took a 48-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of Wilson. University City has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
University City lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Chaya Scott, who dropped a double-double on 28 points and 11 rebounds. Those 28 points set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Kianna LeFear, who scored seven points along with 16 rebounds and five assists.
University City has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-6 record this season. As for Wilson, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-6.
University City will be playing in front of their home fans against Point Loma at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Wilson and Canyon Hills will face off at 9:00 a.m. on December 30th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Canyon Hills is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.
