The Dysart Demons will head out to square off against the Shadow Mountain Matadors at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. Dysart is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.9 runs per game this season.
Having struggled with three losses in a row, Dysart turned things around against Moon Valley on Friday. They never let the Rockets get on the board and left with a 5-0 win.
Nathan Sinclair Delgado was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out 17 over 6.2 innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple was his first of the season.
In other batting news, Jamarian (JJ) Johnson and Zachary Zehring did most of the damage at the plate: Johnson went 3-for-4 with two runs, while Zehring went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI.
Mingus hit Shadow Mountain with a six-run sixth inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Matadors came up short against the Marauders, falling 13-3. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Andy Chaplick was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Dysart now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Shadow Mountain, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3-1.
Dysart's speedy runners might be the difference in Monday's contest. The Demons have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.1 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Shadow Mountain, though, as they've been averaging only 1.1 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Dysart continue to outrun the ball?
Dysart skirted past Shadow Mountain 15-14 in their previous matchup back in March of 2025. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Demons since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
